Speaking of history, the story goes that the great Mogul’s (Akbar) son, Prince Jehangir, didn’t like jalebi because it was made with flour. So the royal khan-saama (cook) made it with matpe beans instead. And thus the Jehangir—first cousin to jalebi—was born.

And, yes, jalebi and jehangir are both delish.
