When I first came to the US, I had a problem with spoken English. Although I write and speak the language fluently, my vocabulary was more British and my accent definitely more Indian. :) Over time, I modified my vocab and learned which syllables to stress.

I can imagine how much harder it is when one does not speak English. Kudos for volunteering your time to help other immigrants.
