Some years back, I visited the bull ring in Sevilla and took a tour of their museum. Afterward, the director informed me that they had doctors on hand in case of injuries. Injuries to the matadors, he clarified. The bulls didn’t matter.

Bull fighting is frequently viewed as a noble sport from the matador’s—the human’s—point of view. But not so much from the bull’s POV. These animals don’t choose to fight. They don’t deserve their terrible fate.
