I joined Medium three months back. At first I read the how—to articles on becoming a better / more successful /viral writer. And lots of other self-help articles. But they got repetitive really fast. Since then I’ve found pubs that cater to my other interests—gardening, reading, nature, kids, and so forth.

I don’t know a whole lot about tech and business. I know enough about personal development and writing to use that knowledge in my own life, but not to advise anyone else.

So I write what I want to write about. Mostly personal reflection and slice-of-life essays. And, occasionally, haiku. My writing is all over the place. But may be I can do that because, as an older person, I am not looking to earn my living as a writer.

Re. Curation, I don’t get it. One of my articles was curated and it earned the least. Others that were actually better didn’t make the cut. Call it sour grapes, but I don’t care anymore.

And, yes, non-paying members metering stories is just not fair.
