I feel the same way. Where have all the small birds gone?

We have so much construction going on in our area. So many meadows cleared to make way for new homes. Suddenly, this year, I haven't seen a single yellow finch. Nor a house finch. They were both regulars until last year. I recently planted another tree in my backyard. I'm hoping it will attract more birds next year.
