Haha, I love this word. Yes, I've seen squirrels, doves, and blue jays splooting in my backyard. The first time I witnessed this behavior, I thought the blue jay was sick. :)

I've seen grackles splooting in the wet grass just after I switched off the sprinkler in my backyard. And that's when I figured it was the bird's way of beating the heat.
